What information do I require in order to upgrade my Saab with a Speedparts ECU upgrade from Elkparts?
We require certain specific information from your existing ECU. The exact information required depends on whether your vehicle is Trionic 5 or Trionic 7. Each form details the exact information required.

Why do you require this information?
This enables us to have an ECU programmed specifically for your Saab with the appropriate stage upgrade software.

Will my Saab be off the road whilst the ECU is reprogrammed?
No. Since we operate on an exchange ECU basis your Saab will not need to be off the road for any period of time for ECU reprogramming.

Is my Saab Trionic 5 or Trionic 7?
Open the bonnet. Across the top of the engine you will see the DI (Direct Igniton) unit. This is coloured red on Trionic 5 vehicles and black on trionic 7 vehicles.

Where can I get the appropriate form?
You can get the forms here: Trionic 5 form, Trionic 7 form. These forms are in Adobe Acrobat format, about 48kb each, and you will need Acrobat reader to view them.

What should I do with the completed form?
You may fax the completed trionic form to Elkparts on fax number: 0844 815 5859. Alternatively, post your form to us at Elkparts, Unit 2 Sunbeam Studios, Sunbeam Street, WOLVERHAMPTON, WV2 4PF. If you do not have a fax machine then you may email your details to us at saab@elkparts.com - please ensure that all the information is 100% accurate.

Does the information need to be 100% accurate?
Yes! If the information is not completely correct then upgrade ECU will not work. If you are in any doubt whatsoever, or you require help or advice then please do call us on 0844 815 5858 during office hours. We will be happy to help and much prefer the information to be correct first time as it helps ensure that your upgraded ECU is programmed correctly for your vehicle.

I understand there is a £150 surcharge on upgrade orders. Why?
This enables us to program and supply an ECU to you without first returning yours for reprogramming. This means that your Saab is not off the road for any period of time. The surcharge is refunded, in full, on the receipt by Elkparts of your old ECU.
